Welcome to Students For Rescues!

Highlighting and applauding student activities in support of pet rescues, or events that increase awareness and sensitivity to how dogs and cats enrich our lives!

Catalyst: an agent that provokes or speeds significant change or action.   Source: m-w.com

It is fitting that this page, Students For Rescues, on our Rally For Pet Rescues site was inspired by an event at the University of Maryland held to de-stress students during finals week. PuppyPalooza was held on Dec. 15, 2011 with the assistance of A Forever Home rescue.

Congratulations on a great event!
So what's next?

Hopefully some of the students will have been inspired by the event to give back to the rescue community.  Support can come in so many ways, not just adopting a dog (or cat).

And so the challenge is on to UMD students and students across the nation in colleges, high school, middle, and elementary schools to find fun and creative ways to support rescue groups in their communities!

Explore the others pages on this site to find ways to help.
Or create your own!

Then share pictures events and stories with us on our FB page or our Blog. Let us know events you have that we can post.

Read For Rescues is a program we've developed for younger students, but suggestions of ways for older students too.
We hope our website serves as a catalyst for YOU
to create change for rescues!

It will change the lives of rescues, and yours as well.
