Meet Bear

Rottweiler/Retriever,
   Flat-Coated
Age6 years
SexMale
SizeXL
ColorBlack/Tan

Meet BEAR! He's an absolutely spoiled young man that came from a loving home that simply couldn't take care of him any longer. Bear is 110 lbs of sweet and loving dog. He wants nothing more than to curl up on your couch or lay by your feet. Even though he's a large boy he's very delicate and great with kids. You can come in and meet Bear today. Take him out and play fetch with him, or run around with him, but his favorite past time is to get affection. He has the most gentle giant demeanor that you will ever encounter in a dog, come down and make Bear your forever companion today.

ColorBlack/White

Imagine: you're in your home for four years and then suddenly, because your dad gets a new girlfriend who doesn't like dogs, you're out on your own! That's how I ended up in the shelter, but I haven't lost hope; I really believe that a new family will bring me home and love me. I'm feeling a little nervous here in the shelter, but I think I will settle into a new home pretty quickly. I just want a warm bed, someone to play with me and daily walks.

At WHS I've gotten to go
on the PACK runs with
volunteers and I think
they are tons of fun!
If you want to take your
dog hiking or for jogs,
I would love to do that
with you!

FEATURED RUNNING RESCUE:

Meet Puzzle

Terrier, Pit Bull/
   Welsh Corgi,
   Cardigan
Age 11 months
SexFemale
SizeMedium
ColorBrown/
        Brindle

Meet Puzzle! You've probably noticed her adorable ears, but there's more to this girl than meets the eye. Puzzle is looking for an experienced dog owner who's ready to give her lots of leadership, structure, and constructive outlets for her energy. She is a smart, talented dog and would thrive if she got to learn a sport, such as agility, frisbee or flyball. A leisurely walk around the neighborhood isn't going to cut it for Puzzle-- this girl wants to work and play hard! She will also need firm boundaries in her new home, as she needs to learn how to share her food and toys, and how to play without getting too rough. She could live with another dog of the right match, but she likes to wrestle rough-and-tumble, so she will need guidance and supervision. Did we mention that once she's worn herself out, Puzzle will just melt in your arms for a belly rub and give you all the kisses and snuggles you can handle? She's off to a good start with basic training here at the shelter, and she's ready to go home-- are you ready for her?

The PACK (People & Animal Cardio Klub), consists of a group of volunteers who regularly meet at local parks to run with adoptable shelter dogs from either of WHS's two Adoption Centers.
Just like traditional running groups this program unites people of like-interests to participate in a social activity and in doing so, support the animals of the Washington Humane Society!

Handy is a smart boy who in no time at all will run up to you for pets and kisses. He plays well with others and is content to sit quietly and be petted. Hardy is a great dog looking for a great home for him to thrive in. Will you come be his best friend and take him on adventures?
Meet Rosay

Rosay is a shy little flower who will open up for just the right person. She loves to be petted, but would rather sit at your feet than be in your lap. She is so willing to please, and is looking for a nurturing home where she will blossom!

Meet Troy

Perro de Presa Canario/Terrier, American Pit Bull
Age2 years 3 months
SexMale
SizeLarge
ColorBlack/White

Don't let my sad face fool you; I'm actually a pretty happy guy! I love to play with tennis balls and would love to have a new home that likes to play with me. I lived with another dog in my previous home, so if you are looking for a companion for your current dog, I would be a good dog to come and meet!

I've gotten to go out with WHS volunteers on PACK runs and they say that I'm a doll! I had fun jogging and then was happy to just hang out, so I'd probably be a couch potato once I got the exercise I need.

I would love to have a family to love of my own- come and meet me and see if my new home is with you!
